劍橋英語五級證書考試（劍橋大學(xué)考試委員會稱之為主體系列考試，Main Suite  Examinations,縮略為MSE）是英國劍橋大學(xué)考試委員會根據(jù)歐洲委員會制定的語言教學(xué)大綱設(shè)計的英語作為外國語的五級系列考試。

該考試設(shè)定為第一級，入門水平：英語入門考試(Key English Test，縮略為KET)，第二級，初級水平，初級英語考試(Preliminary English，縮略為PET)，第三級，獨立水平：第一英語證書考試(First Certificate in English，縮略為FCE)，第四級，流利運(yùn)用：高級英語證書考試(Certificate in Advanced English，縮略為CAE)，第五級，熟練運(yùn)用：熟練英語證書考試(Certificate of Proficiency in English，縮略為CPE)。

The Ministry of Education Examination Center cooperated with the Cambridge University Examinations Board in the United Kingdom. In 1996, it introduced the English entry test KET and the primary English test PET. In 1999, the first English certificate test FCE was introduced. These three exams are the first, second and third grades in the five-level certificate exam. This series of exams is a level test that examines candidates' English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

教育部考試中心和英國劍橋大學(xué)考試委員會合作，于1996年引進(jìn)英語入門考試KET和初級英語考試PET,于1999年引進(jìn)第一英語證書考試FCE。這三項考試分別是五級證書考試中的第一、第二和第三級。該系列考試是一種對考生的英語聽、說、讀、寫能力進(jìn)行考察的水平考試。
